This Derry teen's excellent response to the cold snap (and amazing accent) is going viral

Hoy noy broyn coy.

THE VARIOUS ACCENTS of Northern Ireland. On the one hand, they can be beautiful and lilting. On the other, they can be almost incomprehensible at times, even to Nordies themselves.

On UTV Northern Ireland last night, news reporter Gareth Wilkinson interviewed a Derry teenager about walking to school in the cold weather.

His response was perfect(-ly confusing).

Just in case you need some clarification, here’s what he says.

Teen: Well the mother says we have to go anyway, so we hadn’t much choice in the matter.
Reporter: Is it a cold journey to school this morning?
Teen: Oh god, you wouldn’t be long getting frostbit!

The short clip has racked up over 60,000 views thanks to being posted on Reddit, where many befuddled users from around the world have been trying to make sense of it all:

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Northern Irish accent, lads. Have a great time.

NOTE: It has been pointed out to us that the lad in the video is a budding impressionist by the name of Ruairí McSorley (check out a video of his impressions here). *applauds*
